Baked dumpling of sweet potato
In Japan, it is said that (sweet )potatoes, chestnuts and pumpkins are what women like.
It is very popular to use sweet potatoes as an ingredient of snacks and sweets.
Children also like sweet potates. I bought some pastries for my chldren at a cake shop, "Ginza Cozy Corner".
This photo is baked dumplings of sweet potato I bought for my children. This snack is called "sweet-potato" in Japan. I couldn't find any suitable words for it in English. I didn't know this is a Japanese specific pastery. Some people say that it can be called "sweet potato pie", "sweet potate cake", "sweet potate tarte" and so on.
However, it doesn't feel right to me... I'm not sure but it is a kind of dumplings.
Although I bought them a cake shop, I can make them at home: 1. mix mashed sweet potato, sugar, butter and milk (or fresh cream). 2. bake shaped dough in oven. Very simple recipe.
My children also likes them. They wanted more.
