Shoro-manju (松露饅頭)
When my husband goes on a business trip to Fukuoka, Kyushu, he always brings back Sho-ro manju.
Shoro-mamju is a small ball of japanese sweet bun. This one-bite size bun has very smooth and light sweet bean paste in the very thin layer of castella. So good!!
It is a famous sweet in Saga prefecture, not Fukuoka prefecture. But my hasbund always buy it at Fukuoka airport, according to my request.
"Shoro" means the name of a rare mashroom which we can find in pine trees, although I've never found them. The shape of shoro-manju is similar to that of the mashoroom.
This is why pine leaves is printed in the wrapping paper. I love this design. Very cute!
Miyata and Ohara are the famous shops.
